NICARAGUA 2010
«Don’t just do it, do it right»
«Don’t just do it, do it right»
One day someone told me...
I used to be confident, optimistic, full of energy and last but not least, a great team player with pretty high adaptability skills. I am not the type of person who really cares about what people think. I am also not that type of person who constantly needs to prove something to someone. Actually, I would describe myself more like an independent lover of life who always wants to do her best to make that world better.
One day, it occurred to someone that I was not that person. That I was not that person who really wanted to change to world, that person who loves challenges more than stability, that person who loves to learn from people and to share their culture. I guess that this someone didn’t know me pretty well when he announced me that he wasn’t sure I had the right personality to be sent abroad. He seemed to think that I would not be able to successfully evolve in the Nicaraguan culture. I don’t blame him for that, actually I am glad made me doubt about myself and freak out for a couple of days (some of you know...). Thanks to him, now more than ever, I know that I was right about who I am.
My name is Valérie Laforge. I work as an intern for SUCO in Nicaragua. I work in partnership with La Cooperativa de Ahorro y Credito 10 de Mayo on a project of commercialisation of coffee. I am here to learn, help and love every seconds of my internship and would never think about going back home before my time is up.
Now that this had been cleared and that theses doubts are far behind, let the adventure begins!
