Wild life under my bed
For everyone who thinks that wild life can only be far far away from your house.
For everyone who thinks that wild life can only be far far away from your house.
Who said you needed to go far away to live a wild life dream? If you live in Nicaragua, you can sleep in your very comfortable bed and feel like you are in the jungle.
One night, I was sleeping peacefully when something hit my face. I woke up. I did not see anything. (Who didn’t know that I am super blind without my lenses?) Out of breath, I tried to figure out what kind of animal could end up in my face in the middle of the night... I had no clue... I got back to sleep.
Two days later, I saw a bunch of cockroaches (dead!), on the floor of my room. My «cleaning lady» told me that she found them in my wardrobe so she poisoned them.
About a week ago, I got in my shower and I saw one of these really really long insects. It looked like it had literally 1000 feet. It moved super fast and it didn’t like water. The next day, I met this strange insect again on the floor of my room. Took a picture but couldn’t kill it. It is probably still going around my house.
Cooking is always a great experience. I cooked sausages for two people. Since Omar was not home, I let the plate full of sausages on the counter for about an hour. When I realised that Omar was really not coming for diner, I came back to the kitchen to put that plate in the fridge. At least 25 really tiny ants were standing on ONE slice of sausage. The plate went directly to the trash.
Sleeping like a baby, I heard some kind of weird noises. It seemed like it was coming from my wardrobe. It sounded like there was someone moving stuff around. I was all sleepy. I looked for my glasses and my torchlight. I finally got to look where I heard noises. I saw nothing. I got back to sleep. Next day, I was chilling in my room when I saw a black spot moving quickly from my door to my wardrobe. I didn’t have time to see well but it looked like a mouse. The next night... same noises. This time, I was quick enough to see the little mouse on my wardrobe. What can I do? I got back to sleep. Two days later, I finally decided to take action. I asked Omar to buy a sticky paper that is used to catch and kill mice. The next night, I heard some more noises. This time, the mouse was trying to get away from the sticky paper. I watched it trying to get out of this sticky substance for about an hour. When I was sure it would not get away, I got back to sleep. TRIUMPH! The next morning, more noises. I woke up again and saw a second mouse, trying to get away from the sticky paper. Mouse #1 was dead. Mouse #2 was definitely strong and tried to get away with a lot of energy. I watched it trying for about 30 minutes. When I finally realised that I would have to kill it myself if I wanted it dead, I got back to sleep. I would not kill a mouse with my bare hands. Next afternoon, the dead mouse #1 was still on the sticky paper, on my floor. (I didn’t have the courage to throw it away so far). At that same place, came mouse #2. This time, I didn’t want to let it go away.... (but I am still not able to kill it myself) So, I decided that I would put it alive in a plastic bag. Hours later, Mouse #1 and Mouse #2 are DEAD!
Oh and as I am writing these lines, a lizard just walked on the wall. I love lizards.
Why would I get out of my house to meet wild life creatures when I can meet them right in my room?
